Katherine Plouffe is BIG EAST Player of the Week

MILWAUKEE--Marquette women's basketball senior Katherine Plouffe has been selected as the BIG EAST Player of the Week for leading the Golden Eagles to a 1-1 week with a narrow two-point loss to Villanova and an overtime victory at Georgetown.
The forward averaged 23.5 points and 11 rebounds in the two games, scoring a career-best 33 points in the victory at Georgetown, including 11 of MU's 13 points in the extra period. She also notched her sixth double double this season with a game-high 13 rebounds.
Plouffe also tallied a team-high 14 points against Villanova. She shot 48.4 percent from the field in the two games and was a perfect 15-15 from the free throw line.
This is Plouffe's second time being named league player of the week after opening the season with the honor. The Golden Eagles (11-3, 2-1) will host Seton Hall on Wedesday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. CT before traveling to Xavier Saturday, Jan. 11.
