St. John's (19-7, 12-3) fell to Creighton 65-62 in Omaha, Neb. in its most recent action. SJU faced a deficit is large as 20 points, but was able to shrink the gap to a mere three points within the final minute. Sophomore guard Alliyah Handford led St. John's with a team-high 14 points.
Despite dropping back-to-back matchups, St. John's is currently tied with DePaul for the BIG EAST Conference lead, each with a 12-3 conference record respectively.
MU looks to bolster its tournament resume with a win at St. John's, who currently boasts an RPI of 21. SJU is yet to drop a home contest during the BIG EAST portion of its schedule.
