
No. 52 Indiana Defeats MU, 6-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Off to its best start since the 1990-91 season, the Marquette women's tennis team (6-1) dropped its first match of the year at No. 52 Indiana (7-1) on Saturday afternoon.
Doubles duo, senior Ana Pimienta and junior Erin Gebes remained undefeated at the No. 1 slot as they bested IU's No. 1 duo, 8-5. The pairing of Aleeza Kanner and Ali Dawson at No. 2 and Diana Tokar and Paula Tormos Sanchez on the No. 3 court each fell, 8-3.
Tokar scored the Golden Eagles' lone point on Sunday as she defeated Kim Schmider, 6-0, 6-4 on the No. 4 court.
Marquette will continue its weekend trip traveling to No. 43 Illinois (3-1) on Sunday afternoon.
