NEW YORK-Marquette women's basketball sophomore Natisha Hiedeman has been selected as BIG EAST Player of the Week after leading MU with a triple-double in a win over Western Illinois, the league office announced on Monday.
Hiedeman tallied 12 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists in the first triple-double since Angel Robinson met the minimum requirement with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over Oakland on Nov. 21, 2009, and is just the Golden Eagles' second in program history.
The Green Bay, Wisconsin native is just the eighth player in Division I to record a triple double and her career-high 18 boards is the most by any player in the BIG EAST this season. Hiedeman is averaging 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists as Marquette holds a 6-1 record this season.
The Golden Eagles open a stretch of playing three consecutive Wisconsin schools, beginning Tuesday, Dec. 6 as the squad hosts Green Bay at 7:30 p.m. Central time, which will air live on TWCSportschannel locally on channel 32.
