The Marquette University men's tennis team (7-5) defeated Findlay (6-5) 7-0 Saturday afternoon in non-conference action in Toledo, Ohio.
The victory was the third in a row for the Golden Eagles, who will face Toledo Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT.
MU opened the match by claiming all three doubles matches for the early 1-0 advantage, but each of the three duos had to work for its respective victory. The tandem of juniors Nick Dykema and Mackenzie Stearns clinched the point with a 7-5 decision at No. 2.
Stearns would then earn the team victory with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4. Marquette swept all of the six singles matchups, but both senior Daniel Fernandez and Dykema needed to earn their decision in a tiebreaker.
