Marquette Wraps Up Homestand Saturday Against EIU

The Marquette University men's tennis team (5-5) is set to take on Eastern Illinois (2-6) on Saturday, March 5 at 12 p.m. CT at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles look to continue their home-match winning streak, currently sitting at 4-0 this season. Marquette topped the Huskies of Northern Illinois 6-1 on Wednesday, March 2. Freshman Greg Anderson and juniors Kristiyan Trukov, Mackenzie Stearns, and Nick Dykema claimed wins in doubles play while freshman Alvaro Verdu notched the team victory at the No. 2 spot in singles action.
The Panthers of Eastern Illinois come into the matchup on a three-game losing streak, with their most recent losses being consecutive 7-0 sweeps by Valparaiso and Southern Illinois.
This will be the first matchup between Eastern Illinois and Marquette since the 2010-11 season when the Golden Eagles defeated the Panthers by a 7-0 decision.
Following the match with Eastern Illinois, Marquette will head to Toledo, Ohio to take on Findlay on Saturday, March 12 at 1 p.m. CT.
