The Marquette University men's tennis team (1-1) opened the home portion of its dual campaign on Saturday with a 6-1 victory over IUPUI at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.

Marquette opened the match by claiming the valuable doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions before claiming five of the six singles matchups. Alvaro Verdu, Luke Smrek, Greg Anderson and Mackenzie Stearns were all straight-set winners.

The Golden Eagles return to action at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday afternoon when the squad hosts Illinois State.
