Official BIG EAST Release
NEW YORK - Marquette University junior Diego NÃÆ'Æ'ºÃÆ'Æ'±ez scored his second goal in three games against No. 14 Georgetown on Saturday and was the second Golden Eagle in as many weeks to be named to the BIG EAST Conference weekly honor roll, the league office announced today.
The Spaniard earned his third consecutive start on Saturday and made the most of his lone shot on target. Immediately after Georgetown took a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute, NÃÆ'Æ'ºÃÆ'Æ'±ez responded for Marquette 30 seconds later. He pressured the defense and stole a back pass from the Hoya backline before taking one dribble and depositing the equalizer past JT Marcinkowski, the Preseason BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year.

It was NÃÆ'Æ'ºÃÆ'Æ'±ez's second goal of the season and matched his career-high set as a sophomore last year in fewer than half as many games.
The Golden Eagles travel to Madison for the non-conference finale and in-state rivalry vs. Wisconsin on Wednesday (7 p.m. CT) before returning to Valley Fields to play host to Providence on Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 7 (1:05 p.m. CT).
