
Marquette Sweeps Wright State 7-0

The Marquette University men's tennis team (11-4) claimed a 7-0 victory over Wright State (3-12) Sunday afternoon at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles have now claimed six-straight wins and with the victory over the Raiders remained perfect (8-0) at home in 2016-17.
MU opened the match by claiming a narrowly contested doubles point. The team earned wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions to move ahead 1-0.
Marquette continued its momentum into singles action, posting straight-set wins in each of the lineup spots. Freshman Luke Smrek clinched the team victory with a decision at No. 2 and sophomore Greg Anderson earned his sixth-straight win with a 6-1, 6-4 score at No. 3.
