The Marquette University men's tennis team (7-4) downed Northern Illinois Wednesday night 6-1 in non-conference action at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles have claimed all of their victories at home this season and are a perfect 7-0 on the home courts this season.
NIU opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, but MU made quick work of the Huskies in singles. MU posted five straight-set victories claim the team win, with only Nick Dykema needed a tiebreaker to determine his match.
Marquette returns to action on March 15 when the squad opens its Spring trip against New Orleans.
