
Marquette Downs Creighton 6-1 On The Road

The Marquette University women's tennis team (11-5) posted a 6-1 decision over Creighton (11-8) Saturday afternoon on the road at the Koch Family Tennis Center in Omaha, Neb.
The Golden Eagles will conclude their weekend road swing at Nebraska-Omaha at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday morning. The win was the third-straight for Marquette.
MU opened the match by claiming the doubles point. The squad earned wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions to earn the point. In singles action, the team earned four straight-set wins in the six-person lineup. Junior Paula Tormos Sanchez posted one of those decisions, clinching the team win with a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Creighton's Katherine Nelsen at the No. 3 position.
Also earning singles wins for Marquette on Saturday were sophomore Silvia Ambrosio and freshmen Fleur Eggink, Lesley Foe and Isabella Franks.
