Madden scored a goal and added an assist against Seton Hall
NEW YORK - Marquette University redshirt senior Carrie Madden was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her play in MU's 4-0 victory over Seton Hall in the regular season finale on Thursday evening.
The Deer Park, Illinois native posted a goal and an assist for the Golden Eagles against the Pirates to push her into the team lead for points (seven) and goals (three) this season. Madden is the first player to lead the Golden Eagles in points in three consecutive seasons since Maegan Kelly did so from 2010-13. Though she tied freshman Alyssa Bombacino for the team lead with three goals, she is the first MU player to lead the squad in goals over a three-year stretch since M Club Hall of Famer Kate Gordon in 2000-02.
The weekly honor is the first of the season for the 2018 All-BIG EAST Preseason Team selection. Madden ended her MU career with 16 goals, 11 assists and seven match winners.
