MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's tennis team will head west to take on UNLV on Wednesday, March 14 at 4 p.m. Central time, followed by a matchup at Northern Arizona on Thursday, March 15 at 12 p.m. CT.
The Golden Eagles (8-3) went .500 during last week's action in Indiana. The team dropped a 4-0 decision to the Hoosiers on March 2, but bounced back to secure a 4-3 victory over IUPUI the following day. Freshman Luis Heredia Gomez claimed the go-ahead win at the No. 3 spot to help secure the team victory, the first road-win for MU this season.
The UNLV Rebels (7-5) most recently fell to Utah in Las Vegas, 4-3, on March 9. Prior to the loss, the team was riding a three-match win streak and collected victories over Boston College, Montana and Ball State.
Northern Arizona (4-7) went 1-1 last weekend, beginning with a loss to Idaho in Big Sky action, 4-3, and followed by a 6-1 win over Eastern Washington. The matchup against Marquette is one of two non-conference matchups left in the Lumberjacks schedule, as NAU also takes on UNLV on March 20.
Marquette finishes out the six-match road swing with a pair of BIG EAST Conference contests. MU will open league action at Georgetown on March 23 before heading to St. John's on March 24.
