NEW YORK – Senior Luis Barraza has been named BIG EAST Conference Goalkeeper of the Week after completing a six-save shutout in Marquette's 4-0 victory over Central Arkansas, the league announced on Monday.

Barraza made three saves in each half en route to his seventh career shutout and first this season on Aug. 30. The Santa Teresa, New Mexico, native has allowed just one goal in two outings as Marquette improved to a 2-0 to start the year and climbed to No. 12 in the Top Drawer Soccer Top-25 rankings.

The award is the third of his career, having earned the distinction as a freshman in 2015 and again as a sophomore in 2016, where he finished first in the BIG EAST and 27th nationally in saves per game (4.67).

Barraza and the Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 4, facing their first road test against Saint Louis at 7 p.m. Central time.
