
Track & Field Resumes Indoor Campaign at John Tierney Classic

The Golden Eagles will stay close to home in their first meet after break, heading to UW-Milwaukee on Saturday
The meet, which takes place at the Klotsche Center Fieldhouse, will begin with field events at 10 a.m. Central time followed by running events at 1:45 p.m. CT.
The last time Marquette was in action was back on Dec. 7 when it opened the season at the Parkside Fall Finale in Kenosha. Junior high jumper Daniel Armstrong set a personal-best and improved his No. 2 mark in program history with the second-best mark in the country at the time. His height of 2.21 meters (7 feet, 3 inches) currently stands fifth in the nation.

On the women's side, Breanne Marchan set personal-best marks and top-five all-time list marks in each the 60 and 200 meters, as well as the long jump. Both Armstrong and Marchan garnered BIG EAST Athlete of the Week honors.

Last season at the Tierney Classic, Marquette registered nine event victories, five meet records and a facility record (Terica Harris – long jump).
Following Saturday's action, Marquette will head to Iowa City to compete in the Black & Gold Invitational Friday-Saturday, Jan. 25-26.
