Hiedeman, King and Davenport each record 20+ points in the win
MILWAUKEE--The No. 14/13 Marquette women's basketball team withstood a test on Sunday as the Golden Eagles pulled to an 83-73 win over St. John's to remain unbeaten in BIG EAST Play.

The Golden Eagles (16-3, 7-0) had three players record 20-or more points led by Natisha Hiedeman with 23, Danielle King with 22 and Erika Davenport posting 20 points and 16 rebounds for her fourth straight double-double. Hiedeman also dished out five assists and swiped a career-best seven steals, scoring over 20 points for the fifth-straight game.  Amani Wilborn was also in double figures with 11 points.

Marquette led by as many as 15 points in the second quarter, but the Red Storm (8-10, 1-6) stormed back in the second half and actually outscored MU in the final quarter, 22-20. The Golden Eagles led by just four points, 74-70 after Tiana England sank a three-pointer with 2:22 left to play, but some poised free-throw shooting and a jumper from Hiedeman pushed the lead back to nine points and MU connected at the charity stripe to seal the win.

The Golden Eagles shot 47.3 percent (26-55) from the floor and scored 24 points from fast break baskets.

St. John's shot 48.4 percent (30-62) and was led by Curteeona Brelove with 22 points and eight rebounds, while three other players also recorded double digits.

The Golden Eagles open a three-game road swing beginning on Friday, Jan. 25 when the squad will travel to Xavier. Tip-off is 6 p.m. CT airing live on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
