Armstrong is the BIG EAST Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

A Marquette field athlete has captured the men's weekly honor three times
NEW YORK – Marquette University junior high jumper Daniel Armstrong was selected as the BIG EAST Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Armstrong won the men's high jump at Iowa's Black & Gold Premier and set the meet record with a leap of 2.15 meters (7 feet, 1/2 inch) on Saturday in Iowa City, Iowa. The Michigan City, Indiana native previously posted a BIG EAST-best height of 2.21 meters on Dec. 7, a mark that ranks 10th in NCAA Division I.
It is the second weekly recognition for Armstrong this indoor season and the third time that a MU male athlete has won the honor. Thrower Terrance Howard was honored last week for his performance in the weight throw and shot put at Milwaukee.
The Golden Eagles resume indoor action on Friday, Feb. 1 at Notre Dame's prestigious Meyo Invitational.
