MU opens four-match trip this weekend
The Marquette University men's tennis team (2-1) opens a four-match road swing this weekend with a swing through the state of Indiana.
The Golden Eagles take on Purdue (2-1) at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 2 before traveling to Valparaiso on Sunday, Feb. 3 at 12 p.m. CT.
MU fell 6-1 in its most recent trip to West Lafayette, Indiana, in 2015-16 and defeated the Crusaders 5-2 last year at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
"Our schedule is designed to test our guys from the very start and this season is no different," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "We have a ton of experience on this roster and its our hope those veterans will lead us to success during this challenging road trip."
Marquette is on a two-match win streak after downing Georgetown and UIC at home last weekend. Junior Luke Smrek was named BIG EAST Player of the Week after compiling a 4-0 record in the two victories.
