Four Golden Eagles Earn All-BIG EAST Honors

Alba, Coan, Prpa and Seagrist honored by the conference Monday
NEW YORK – Four Marquette University men's soccer players were named to the All-BIG EAST teams, the conference announced on Monday.

Senior defender Patrick Seagrist earned his second consecutive First Team All-BIG EAST honor while Luka Prpa made the second team and Connor Alba and Josh Coan garnered third team accolades.

Seagrist, a senior from Streamwood, Illinois, started 63 of the 65 games he played in during his four-year career at MU. He scored two goals and tallied seven assists this season, which tied him for the conference lead in assists.

A three-time BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, he also earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Oct. 21 this year. After being named to the All-BIG EAST First Team last year, he garnered preseason all-conference accolades prior to this season.
A senior midfielder out of Wind Lake, Wisconsin, Prpa takes home his fourth all-conference honor of his career. In 2016, he made the BIG EAST All-Freshman team in addition to being named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year after scoring 10 goals and tallying a team-high 26 points.

In 2017, he was named Second Team All-BIG EAST before having a fantastic junior season in 2018 on his way to all-conference first team honors. A three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection, he scored one goal and dished out four assists this season before being named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team. He also ranks No. 8 all-time in program history with 21 career assists.

In 2018, Waukesha, Wisconsin-native Connor Alba earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors for the first time in his career after notching four goals and two assists (10 points). This year, he garnered All-BIG EAST Third Team honors after scoring three goals and dishing out three assists.

Alba finishes his MU career with 39 career points, scoring 14 goals to go along with 11 assists.

Senior forward Josh Coan took home his first postseason all-conference honor on Monday when he joined Alba on the All-BIG EAST Third Team. The former Pittsburgh transfer enjoyed a breakout 2019 season, leading the team in points (16), goals (6), shots (57) and shots on goal (32).

An Indianapolis, Indiana native, Coan finishes his two-year MU career with nine goals, seven assists and 25 points. He was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll and Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week after a two-goal performance against NIU (Sept. 13).

All four seniors will graduate from MU in either December or May.
