MU Falls to Seton Hall in Overtime, 2-1
11/2/2019 9:47:00 PM | Men's Soccer
Josh Coan scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season for MU
The loss drops the Golden Eagles to 7-8-1 (3-5-0 BIG EAST) on the season and puts them in a tie for seventh place in the conference standings with one game to play.
"I'm disappointed by the result tonight," MU head coach Louis Bennett said. "We had plenty of chances to put the game away, all the way until there was 30 seconds left. Now we've got to go do it the hard way and get a positive result at DePaul [on Wednesday]."

Seton Hall's Carlton McKenzie netted a brace for his team, with his first goal coming in the 21st minute off a volley from a cross into the box. That was the only goal of the first half despite the Golden Eagles outshooting the Pirates 7-5.
MU fired off 11 shots in the second half and finally broke through in the 71st minute. Senior forward Josh Coan netted his team-leading sixth goal of the year off a perfectly placed through ball from midfielder Luka Prpa. The goal tied the game at one with 19 minutes left in regulation.

Prpa, who now has four assists on the year and 21 in his decorated career at MU, moved into a tie for eighth all-time in program history in career assists.
Despite several more scoring chances from each team in the waning minutes of regulation, the game needed extra time to decide a winner.
SHU's Carlton McKenzie scored just three minutes into the first overtime to secure three points for his team at Valley Fields.
MU goalkeeper Cedrik Stern made six saves on the night, marking the fourth time in the past six games he's saved at least five shots.
"It was a really tough night for all of us," Stern said. "We gave up an early goal and I thought we were the better team for most of the night. It hurts not being able to come away with a win tonight."
