Head Women’s Soccer Coach Markus Roeders Steps Down

National search for replacement to begin immediately
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University head women's soccer coach Markus Roeders has stepped down, effective immediately, Vice President and Director of Athletics Bill Scholl announced Wednesday morning.
"I would like to thank Markus for his years of valued service, not only the department, but the University as a whole," Scholl said. "He led the team to an extended period of success on the field and in the classroom during his tenure and we appreciate all the program has accomplished under his direction."
Roeders posted an overall record of 325-148-51 in 24 seasons as head coach, leading the program to 13 NCAA tournaments and 10 regular season league titles. The Golden Eagles finished 6-11-1 in the 2019, missing the BIG EAST Conference tournament.
Marquette will immediately begin a national search for a new head coach.
