Kane majors in public relations with a minor in psychology
MILWAUKEE - Junior women's lacrosse midfielder Madison Kane is the Baird Blue & Gold Student-Athlete of the Month for the Month of November, as chosen by Marquette Athletics' Academics and Student Programs staff.
A public relations major and psychology minor, Kane earned BIG EAST All-Academic awards her freshman and sophomore year. Kane is also extremely involved in SHAPE (Student Health Allies and Peer Educators), the peer mental health group in Athletics. She manages the social media account for the group, keeping the content dynamic and relevant, with regular posts documenting the SHAPE outreach within the Marquette community.
Using these skills, Kane was the Social Media and Marketing intern at The Glen Club in Glenview, Illinois over the 2019 summer.
The Chicago, Illinois native is an active participant in several service projects such as the PanCan Action Network for pancreatic cancer awareness, Feeding America, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and Al's Run.
During the 2019 season, Kane finished her sophomore year appearing in all 18 games, starting in 17 of them. A crucial team player, the midfielder scored 14 goals on the season, and tallied nine assists with 12 ground balls and five forced turnovers. During her 2018 freshman campaign, Kane appeared in 16 games.
