MTEN Wraps Up Fall Season at Gopher Invite

The Marquette University men's tennis team concludes the fall portion of its 2019-20 campaign this weekend at the Gopher Invitational (Nov. 8-10), hosted by the University of Minnesota.

The Golden Eagles will send Brett Meyers, Luke Smrek, Luis Heredia Gomez and Fran San Andres to represent the team.

"We have had a solid fall season, improving along the away and our goal is to continue that process this weekend," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "This format is going to allow our guys to compete against some of the region's top players."

Also competing will be Illinois, Denver, DePaul, Drake, Gonzaga, Minnesota, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Wichita State, and Wisconsin.

The invitational will take place at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, MN. The events will kick-off on Friday and conclude on Sunday. Competition will begin Friday at 9 a.m. CT, Saturday at 8 a.m. CT, and Sunday at 8 a.m. CT.

After this weekend, the Golden Eagles will not return to the courts until Jan. 18, traveling back to Minnesota for the dual opener.
