Golden Eagles earn the doubles point
BLOOMINGTON, Ind.-- The Marquette women's tennis team concluded a two game road swing at Indiana on Sunday afternoon, falling in a 6-1 decision to the Hoosiers.
Marquette (2-2) started off strong winning the doubles point as Isabella Franks and Milica Novakovic teamed at the No. 3 position and claimed a swift 6-1 win before No. 1 duo Fleur Eggink and Natalija Popovic clinched the point with a 6-3 victory.
In singles, Novakovic narrowly dropped her point as she fought through in a 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5) at the No. 3 slot.Â
The Golden Eagles return home next weekend for a pair of contests beginning on Friday, Feb. 8 when the squad host Western Michigan at 3 p.m. CT.
