
No. 8/7 Marquette Hosts Georgetown on FS1 All-Access

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT Friday
MILWAUKEE – The 8th-ranked Marquette women's basketball program takes its 10-game winning streak national as the Golden Eagles host Georgetown on Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. CT on FSI.
The nationally televised showdown will be all-access and commercial free as head coach Carolyn Kieger and the Hoya's coach James Howard will wear live microphones from tip-off through both team's postgame speeches. This is the third consecutive year that FOX Sports will air a women's basketball all-access contest, but the first to air on FS1. Lisa Byington (play-by-play) and Monica McNutt (analyst) will have the call from the Al McGuire Center.
Marquette (19-3, 10-0) has won 10 straight contests since opening BIG EAST play on Dec. 29 and holds a four-game lead in the league standings over second-place Butler. Two victories this weekend would clinch a first round bye for the Golden Eagles in the 2019 BIG EAST Tournament.
Natisha Hiedeman leads MU with 18.5 points per game, which is second in the conference, but Hiedeman ranks first in BIG EAST scoring with a 22.1 points per game average. Five scorers average double digits for the Golden Eagles as Allazia Blockton tallies 15.9 points, Danielle King 12.5 and Erika Davenport and Amani Wilborn at 12.2 and 11.2 points per game, respectively.
Sunday will mark the Golden Eagles' annual Play4Kay pink game as MU will host Villanova at 2p.m. CT. The game will air locally on FS Wisconsin and the BIG EAST Digital Network.
The Hoyas are a stingy defensive team allowing opponents to score just 58.3 points per game, second in the BIG EAST, though Marquette tallied 72 in the first meeting of the season in Washington, D.C.

In the first meeting at Georgetown, Marquette overcame a 14-point deficit to take a 72-62 win in Washington. Natisha Hiedeman and Erika Davenport led the squad each with a double-double.
