Women's Tennis Travels to Xavier

The Golden Eagles face their second BIG EAST foe
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's tennis team (8-7) opens BIG EAST conference play on the road against Xavier (14-2) on Saturday, March 23 with first serve is slated for 2 p.m. Central time playing on an indoor court.
The Golden Eagles concluded spring break out west with three losses. In the final match of the trip, Lesley Foe and Milica Novakovic were on the board first with a 6-1 doubles victory. Fleur Eggink and Natalija Popovic secured the doubles point in the top position with a 6-4 win. San Jose State took the match by the narrowest of margins as five of the six singles courts went into third sets.
Xavier went undefeated in their spring break matches as the team rolled past Howard, Creighton, Seton Hall and Rockhurst. In the win over Rockhurst, the Musketeers tallied their 12th straight win on the season.
Freshman Emily Thomas was named BIG EAST Tennis Athlete of the Week as she extended her singles winning streak to eight straight with a 4-0 week of play.
