Marquette Sweeps Youngstown State, 7-0

MU has now won 18-straight at home
The Marquette University men's tennis team (9-6) completed its weekend homestand with a 7-0 victory over Youngstown State (8-6) Sunday afternoon at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The victory extended MU's homecourt winning streak to 18 matches, which dates back to the 2016-17 campaign. The Golden Eagles are now 7-0 on campus this season after posting an 11-0 mark in 2017-18. YSU was the last team to down MU at home, earning a 4-3 decision on April 23, 2017 in the home finale.
Marquette opened the match by claiming the doubles point, earning wins at the No. 1 and 2 positions.
After quick wins by Brandon Shanklin (No. 6) and Brett Meyers (No. 3), senior Alvaro Verdu clinched the team victory with a hard-fought 6-0, 3-6, 6-3 win at No. 1.
Also claiming singles wins for Marquette were Fran San Andres, Luis Heredia Gomez and Greg Anderson.
