Marquette Travels To Omaha For Pair of Matches

MU to face Nebraska-Omaha and Creighton this weekend
The Marquette University men's tennis team (9-6) looks to extend its two-match winning streak as it heads to Omaha this weekend.
Saturday, March 30 will see a matchup against the University of Nebraska at Omaha Mavericks (7-10), and Sunday will find the Golden Eagles squaring off against the Creighton Blue Jays (7-7).
First serve against the Mavericks is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday, and play will begin against the Blue Jays on Sunday at 11 a.m.
"It's a big weekend for us for a number of reasons," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "We need to put together strong performances on the road as the league tournament approaches and claiming a win over Creighton would be a big help in seeding."
Marquette senior Alvaro Verdu is looking to build on a sweep in singles and doubles against Youngstown State and conference foe Villanova at home last weekend. The victories earned Verdu the honor of being named BIG EAST Tennis Player of the Week.
Following this weekend's action, Marquette opens a grandstand at home against Wright State on Friday, April 5 and St. John's on Sunday, April 7.
