Marquette Hosts Georgetown Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT

Senior Day highlighted by pregame ceremony
NOTE:Â We wanted to remind everyone that the St. Patrick's Day parade will be taking place Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until approximately 2:30 p.m. in Downtown Milwaukee. Â The parade will create a number of road closures east of Fiserv Forum, which in turn may create issues accessing various parking lots and garages surrounding the arena. Please follow the MAP and STREET CLOSURE information to find the best route to your primary game day parking location.
The No. 16/15 Marquette University men's basketball team (23-7, 12-5 BIG EAST) wraps up the regular season portion of its schedule on Saturday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. CT when the squad hosts Georgetown (18-12, 8-9 BIG EAST) at Fiserv Forum. FOX will feature the television broadcast, with Tim Brando (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) calling the action. Prior to the game, Marquette will honor its three-member senior class of Joseph Chartouny, Matt Heldt and Cam Marotta.

Narrow Margin Separates All-Time Series
             Â
Marquette has claimed five of the last six outings with the Hoyas and now owns a slim 14-12 advantage in the all-time series.Â
             Â
All but two of the matchups have come since Marquette joined the BIG EAST in 2005-06.
             Â
The programs first met during the 1941-42 campaign and the Hoyas were able to claim a 35-34 victory. The next meeting didn't come until the 1971-72 season and Marquette posted a winning 88-44 decision. The series resumed in 2005-06 and the squads have met on 24 occasions since that year.

Marquette To Recognize Trio On Senior Day
             Â
The men's basketball program and University will recognize the contributions of the team's three seniors on Saturday afternoon during a pregame ceremony.
             Â
Guard Joseph Chartouny joined MU in 2018-19 after graduating from Fordham. An all-conference performer with the Rams, Chartouny owns over 1,000 career points and has appeared in each of MU's games this year.
             Â
Center Matt Heldt has appeared in over 100 career games during his four-year tenure and is in possession of almost 40 career starts. He has been named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team on multiple occasions.
             Â
Guard Cam Marotta joined the team as a walk-on four seasons ago and has made 26 appearances for the Golden Eagles. He scored his first points during his freshman campaign and his first 3-pointer came earlier this year.

MU Hopes For Share Of League Title
             Â
As the final day of the regular season arrives, Marquette has already clinched a top-two finish in the league and now has its sights set on a share of the BIG EAST title.
              Â
A win over Georgetown and a loss by Villanova, which concludes the regular season at Seton Hall, would mean BIG EAST regular season co-champions in 2018-19. The Golden Eagles and Wildcats split the season series, leaving the tourney seeding tiebreaker to the final standings, which have 32 different options on the final day of the season.  Â
             Â
The Golden Eagles earned a three-way share of first place with Georgetown and Louisville in 2012-13, but tiebreakers gave MU the No. 3 seed in the tourney. MU has never been higher than the No. 2 seed, which came in 2011-12.

Sam Hauser Rebounds, Scores At Seton Hall
             Â

             Â
The Stevens Point, Wisconsin, native finished 9-of-19 from the floor and also chipped in nine rebounds and three assists in 40 minutes of action. His point total was his highest since netting 25 points at Fiserv Forum versus Providence on Jan. 20.
Â
Bailey, Morrow Provide Bench Support
             Â
While leading scorer Markus Howard was held to just six points in the loss at Seton Hall, reserves Ed Morrow and Brendan Bailey helped Marquette to a second-half lead.
             Â
The duo combined to contribute 15 points, six rebounds and three steals in 38 total minutes of action. Morrow knocked down all three of his field goal attempts and Bailey finished with eight points, his highest total since netting nine points at Georgetown on Jan. 15 (12 games).
