Marquette Heads to the West Coast

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's tennis team (8-4) heads to California for spring break as it continues its seven-game road swing to face Loyola Marymount University (2-3) on Monday, March 11 and the University of California Santa Barbara (5-3) on Wednesday, March 13.

The Golden Eagles come off a successful weekend in Omaha after sweeping Creighton and University of Omaha-Nebraska 4-0. Fleur Eggnik and Natalija won a quick 6-2 doubles point at the No. 1 position. Isabella Franks and Milica Novakovic won a 6-4 victory in the No. 3 position against Creighton. The doubles duos were also first on the board in Marquette's 4-0 victory over Omaha-Nebraska.

The Loyola Marymount Lions have not played since defeating Arkansas in its home opener on Feb. 16.

UC Santa-Barbara defeated UC Davis Aggies with a 5-1 triumph in its conference opener Sunday. The Gauchos play Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount before facing off with Marquette on Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles will continue play in California as they travel up the coast to take on the San Jose State University on March 16 with first serve slated for 12 p.m. Central time.
