Track & field continues action in California and Florida

MU's throwers began action at the South Florida Collegiate
AZUSA, Calif. – The Marquette University men's and women's track and field teams concluded action at Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational and the throwers began competition at the South Florida Collegiate on Friday afternoon.
Freshman sprinter Arianna Mansavage ran a personal-best time of 56.37 seconds in the women's 400-meter dash at the Bryan Clay Invite to turn in the eighth-fastest mark in program history. Sophomore Emma Moravec also notched the eighth-best time in MU lore in the women's 800 at 2:11.28.
Junior Daniel Armstrong tied for fifth in the men's high jump with a top height of 2.06 meters.
At the South Florida Collegiate in Tampa, Florida, senior Brendan McKinney won the men's hammer throw with a toss of 56.02 meters (183 feet, 9 inches), while Terrance Howard placed second at 55.36 meters (181-7). Howard led the event through the first three throws before McKinney posted the winning mark on his fourth attempt.
On the women's side, Keely Knobbe (50.78 meters/166-7) finished as runner-up and Amanda Hodgson was third.
Marquette's throwers resume action at the South Florida Collegiate with the javelin, discus and shot put.
