Armstrong and Knobbe are BIG EAST Field Athletes of the Week

Armstrong and Knobbe each won two events at the Marquette Invitational
NEW YORK – Marquette University jumper Daniel Armstrong and thrower Keely Knobbe were honored on Monday as the BIG EAST Conference Men's and Women's Field Athletes of the Week, respectively.
The pair earned the recognition after each won two event titles at the Marquette Invitational on Friday afternoon at Valley Fields.
Armstrong won both the men's high and long jumps. He reached a height of 2.12 meters in the high jump and a personal-best distance of 6.34 meters in the long jump. The high jump mark leads the BIG EAST this season and ranks 25th nationally.
Knobbe claimed top honors in the hammer throw and discus and was runner up in the shot put. Her marks in the hammer (54.26 meters) and discus (45.66 meters) were both personal bests and the seventh-best marks in Marquette history. The discus mark leads the BIG EAST this season and ranks 94th in the West Region, while the hammer distance is 69th in the West Region.
Armstrong earned BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week twice during the indoor season, while Knobbe was honored once on the women's side during the indoor campaign.
