
Track & Field heads to Madison for Wisconsin Alumni Classic

The Golden Eagles will send 79 student-athletes to the final meet before the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's track and field teams travel to Madison, Wisconsin on Friday, May 3 for the Wisconsin Alumni Classic.
Action begins on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the UW Throws Facility with the hammer throw and shot put, while events at the McClimon Memorial Track get underway with the javelin at the same time. The discus location will be decided based on weather conditions.
The jumps and the women's 100-meter hurdles on the track are slated to begin at 4 p.m. and the women's 4x400-meter relay will close out action at 7:20 p.m.
Reigning BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week Brendan McKinney will compete in the shot put, discus and hammer throw and is joined by fellow senior Terrance McKinney in all three events. McKinney set season-best marks in the hammer throw and javelin in the Marquette Midweek Challenge last Wednesday and currently leads the BIG EAST in the hammer, is second in the discus and seventh in the shot put.
In total Marquette will travel 79 student-athletes (38 women and 41 men) in a final tune-up for the BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be competed on May 10-11 at Icahn Stadium in New York.
