Eight former Marquette lacrosse players are on MLL and PLL rosters
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University's professional lacrosse players begin their 2019 campaigns this weekend in both the Premier Lacrosse League and Major League Lacrosse.
A total of eight former Golden Eagles are on rosters across both leagues, including B.J. Grill, Jacob Richard and Noah Richard in the newly formed PLL, which begins its inaugural season on Saturday in Boston. Grill will suit up with Chrome LC in the PLL's first-ever game on Saturday before the Richard brothers' Atlas LC squad plays on Sunday afternoon on NBS Sports Network.
Zachary Melillo kicks off the weekend for MU's alumni contingent in the MLL for the Denver Outlaws with a Friday matchup at the New York Lizards. Melillo and the Outlaws will then travel to Atlanta to take on Liam Byrnes and the Atlanta Blaze on Sunday.
Three Golden Eagles are on the Dallas Rattlers roster, including two of the leading scorers in MU history in Ryan McNamara and Conor Gately. The Rattlers, who have Andy DeMichiei as a member of the practice squad, welcome the Chesapeake Bayhawks on Sunday afternoon.
