Nine Golden Eagles have suited up in the MLL and PLL this summer
MILWAUKEE - Nine former Golden Eagles have appeared on professional lacrosse rosters this summer, including 2019 graduates John Wagner and Tanner Thomson, who were recently picked up by the Chesapeake Bayhawks and the Atlanta Blaze of the MLL, respectively.
Wagner, who works for Scotiabank in Toronto, made his MLL debut on July 20 and has registered eight points on three goals and five assists in three games. Thomson fired a pair of shots and picked up three ground balls in his debut on Aug. 4 against Ryan McNamara and the Dallas Rattlers.
McNamara, in his third pro season, sits second on the Rattlers with 13 goals and 21 points, while leading the squad with eight assists. The two-time USILA All-American has become one of the faces of the MLL alongside Liam Byrnes, who was named an MLL All-Star this summer with the Atlanta Blaze.
Byrnes has posted a league-leading 15 caused turnovers this season and is seventh in the MLL in ground balls with 40, a mark that leads all MLL poles.
Additionally in the MLL, Zachary Melillo and Cole Blazer have each been active for one game for their respective clubs with Melillo going 3-of-4 from the face-off dot for the Denver Outlaws.
