MU Goalkeeper Jackson Weyman is BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

The redshirt freshmen helped his team to a 1-0-1 record on opening weekend
MILWAUKEE -Â Marquette University redshirt freshman goalkeeper Jackson Weyman is the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Weyman led the Golden Eagles to a 1-0-1 record to open their 2019 campaign, saving six shots in two games and playing all 217 minutes in goal in two double-overtime games. He allowed just one goal for a 0.42 goals against average and his save percentage for the weekend was .857.

After redshirting in 2018, the Evanston, Illinois-native has come on strong to begin the season and earn the first two starts in goal for MU. He split time in net during the three preseason games and didn't allow a goal in 122 minutes of action.
He's the first MU player to be named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week since Manuel Cukaj earned the honor on Oct. 16, 2017.

Weyman and the Golden Eagles will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 6 at 6:00 p.m. CT when they travel to Tampa, Florida to take on the University of South Florida.
