Taylor's first career double-double paces the Golden Eagles
MILWAUKEE-- The Marquette women's basketball team has won three straight contests and improves its BIG EAST record to 3-2 following a Sunday afternoon victory against Seton Hall, 81-60.
The Golden Eagles (12-4, 3-2) are a perfect 11-0 at home against the Pirates and improve to seven consecutive wins in the series.
Freshman Camryn Taylor tallied her first career double-double with new career highs of 23 points and 11 rebounds in the game, while Selena Lott continued her stellar weekend of play and finished with 19 points for the night. Altia Anderson added 11 points and four steals.
MU trailed after the first quarter, but held a four-point lead, 38-34 at the half before exploding to outscore Seton Hall (10-7, 3-3) in the second half, 43-26.
For the 14th time this season the Golden Eagles shot better than 40 percent as the team combined to hit 45 percent (27-60) from the floor, while continuing their streak of outrebounding the opponent, 46-34.
Led by Lott's six assists, MU dished out 23 assists in the game.
Barbara Johnson and Desiree Elmore led Seton Hall with 18 and 12 points, respectively.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles travel to Indianapolis on January 17 to play the Butler Bulldogs at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Tipoff is scheduled to take place at 5:30 p.m. CT and will air on FS2.
