OPPONENT
CREIGHTON (10-3, 2-0) Creighton opened BIG EAST play with a pair of road wins at Georgetown and Villanova. Jaylyn Agnew leads the Bluejays and is second in the league in scoring with 19.3 points per game and is 11th in the NCAA with 3.2 three-pointers each night. Three other Creighton players average double figures. Agnew and Rachael Saunders average 6.4 and 6.0 rebounds, respectively. Creighton is holding opponents to just 59.4 points per game.
THE SERIES
Marquette trails the all-time series with Creighton, 11-7 and split the season series last year with each team winning on its home court.
WHAT THE TEAM IS SAYING:
Following DePaul…
"We have a long season ahead and a long BIG EAST season and we're going to keep fighting and go back to the drawing board to figure out our identity. We've got to figure out a way to take care of the ball and step up. I thought we were tentative with our decision-making with stuff that was wide open and it led to some easy baskets from DePaul. Once they had those easy baskets, they had open three's and once you do that they are just too hard to stop."
