
Lott Named to Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team

The senior guard averaged 15.5 points, 5.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 2019-20
MILWAUKEE -Â Senior guard Selena Lott (Troy, N.Y./Columbia HS) has been named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team, the league office announced on Thursday morning at its annual media day.

Lott had a breakout junior season, leading the team in scoring with 15.5 points per game. She was among the league leaders in field goal percentage (3rd, 52.5%), assists (5.6 apg.) and steals (1.8 spg.). She also reached double figures in scoring 25 times and netted 20-or-more on five occasions.Â
The Troy, N.Y., native made the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll five times in 2019-20 and earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors on Jan. 13. Her performances in 2019-20 earned her a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team.

As a team, the Golden Eagles were picked by their peers to finish third in the BIG EAST in 2020-21. National power UConn, in its return to the BIG EAST, received 10 first place votes. DePaul, the reigning conference champions, were picked to finish second behind the Huskies.
Reigning BIG EAST Coach of the Year Megan Duffy is set for her second year in charge of the program. She led MU to a 24-8 (13-5 BIG EAST) record last season and a runner-up finish in the conference.
The Golden Eagles are still finalizing their 2020-21 schedule, but are expected to begin the season on Wednesday, Nov. 25.
