
MU Hosts Butler Sunday in Play4Kay Pink Game

Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. CT on the BIG EAST Digital Network
MILWAUKEE — The Marquette women's basketball team is back in action Sunday hosting Butler for its annual Play4Kay pink game. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. CT at the Al McGuire Center.
The game will air on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Patrick Reed (play-by-play) and Kyle Dlabay calling the action from the sideline, while Piper Shaw will handle sideline duties.
The Golden Eagles (19-6, 10-4) earned the season sweep over Xavier on Friday night with a 61-48 victory behind 21 points from Isabelle Spingola. Marquette is currently alone in second place in the BIG EAST standings and can finish no lower than seventh, nearly wrapping up a first-round bye in the BIG EAST Tournament. Butler enters the game right below MU in third place with a 9-4 record.
Selena Lott leads three players with a double figure average as she tallies 14.8 points per game, while Lauren Van Kleunen and Spingola turn in 11.1 and 10.9 points per night, respectively. All three rank in the top-20 in the league in scoring, while freshman Camryn Taylor is 26th with 9.4 points per game.
As a team the Golden Eagles rank second in the BIG EAST and ninth in the NCAA dishing out 18.3 assists per game, while Lott is second in the league and 12th in the country with 5.9 assists.
UP NEXT: Marquette opens its final regular season road trip and will take on Villanova Friday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. CT.

Sunday is the Play4Kay cancer awareness game with pink shirts provided for the first 750 fans at the game. The Golden Eagles will be honoring survivors and donating money raised to the Kay Yow Foundation.
Generation Alive will perform at halftime and the squad will sign autographs following the game.

The Bulldogs sit in third place in league standings, one spot below the Golden Eagles with two weekends remaining in regular season action following Sunday's matchup.
