Eggink and Popovic stay hot
The Golden Eagles (3-5) began the morning by winning the doubles point thanks to a 6-2 match from Fleur Eggink and Natalija Popovic in the No. 1 spot as well as a 6-4 victory from Lesley Foe and Tiana Windbuchler in the No. 3 spot. This marks Eggink's and Popovic's fifth straight doubles win as a duo.
A true showing of strength came in singles competition as the team went on to win five of six matches. Milica Novakovic and Giulia Turconi both finished with identical 6-1, 6-2 sets in the No. 2 and No. 4 spots respectively.
Natalija Popovic, Isabella Franks, and Lesley Foe secured their singles points in three sets each in the No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 spots respectively.
The Golden Eagles will return home to prepare for their first BIG EAST matchup of the year as Creighton arrives for battle on Saturday, Feb. 22, with competition scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CT.
