FOX to feature national television broadcast
The Marquette University men's basketball team (18-9, 8-7 BIG EAST) wraps up the home portion of its regular season on Saturday, Feb. 29 when the squad welcomes No. 13/13 Seton Hall (20-7, 12-3 BIG EAST) to Fiserv Forum for Senior Day.  FOX will feature the television broadcast, with Tim Brando (play-by-play), Donny Marshall (analyst) and Lisa Byington (reporter) calling the action.
Series With Pirates Dates Back To 1956
  Â
The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series with Seton Hall, 19-10, with all but one of the matchups coming after MU joined the BIG EAST Conference in 2005-06.
  Â
SHU opened the series with a 96-78 victory over Marquette on March 17, 1956 in MU's first-ever appearance in the National Invitation Tournament in New York. The next meeting wouldn't come until 50 years later when Marquette moved to the BIG EAST.
  Â
After SHU's 69-55 victory on Jan. 11 at the Prudential Center in the first matchup this season between the two programs, the Pirates have now claimed three-straight wins over the Golden Eagles.Â
Bench Makes Big Impact In Latest WinÂ
  Â
Senior Markus Howard scored 30 points for the 12th time this season, including in seven BIG EAST outings, but it was the team's bench corps that was the story in Marquette's win over Georgetown.
  Â
The four reserves who saw action (Jamal Cain, Jayce Johnson, Symir Torrence and Greg Elliott) combined to contribute 32 points, 18 rebounds, nine assists, three blocks and a pair of steals. Â The point total was the second-best of the season, surpassed only by 36 points in the win against Central Arkansas on Dec. 28 in the non-conference finale.
  Â
Johnson was extremely impressive, narrowly missing a double-double (nine points and 11 rebounds) in just 22 minutes of action. Â Cain led the way with 15 points, including a trio of treys.
Senior Day Honors Talented Trio
  Â
Before and after Saturday's matchup, the program will recognize the three members of its 2020 senior class - Sacar Anim, Jayce Johnson and Markus Howard.
  Â
Anim has appeared in 113 career games with the Golden Eagles, scored more than 900 points and grabbed over 300 rebounds during his five-year tenure. Â The Minneapolis native has improved in each season with the team and is enjoying a career-best campaign, averaging 12. 8 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest. Â Anim graduated with a degree in advertising in May of 2019 and is currently working on his master's in corporate communications.
  Â
Johnson has been a valuable contributor off the bench in his lone season with the Golden Eagles. Â The Mission Viejo, California native played his first three seasons at Utah prior to arriving on campus as a graduate transfer. Â For his career, he has appeared in 114 games, scored over 500 points and grabbed over 600 rebounds. Â Johnson, who graduated from Utah in 2019 with a degree in psychology, is currently working on his master's at Marquette.
  Â
One of the best players in program history, Howard will leave Marquette with his name included among the greatest to ever play the game. Â The 2019 BIG EAST Player of the Year and All-America selection is a candidate for every major award in collegiate basketball this season, including national player of the year. Â The Chandler, Arizona native will depart Marquette in possession of the school's all-time scoring mark, and six other career records. Â He is the BIG EAST's all-time leading scorer and holds the league and University's single-game scoring record of 53 points. Â Howard is majoring in digital media and will graduate this spring.
