The Golden Eagles will send student-athletes to three different sites
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's track and field teams will send student-athletes to three different sites this weekend to compete.
The multis competitors will go to the Windy City Rumble at the University of Chicago from Friday, Feb. 7 through Saturday, Feb. 8. Junior Joe Keys and senior Madison Marko will attempt to break school records in the heptathlon and pentathlon, respectively.
Keys (5,338 points) will try to break his own school record, which he set last year at the Spire Institute (Feb. 23). Marko (3,309) currently holds the No. 4 spot all-time in the pentathlon, which she set in the same meet last season.
Several distance runners will head to the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame. The MU women, led by seniors Caitlin McGauley and Mary Hanson, will compete in the 3000m race on Friday night. Ryan Burd and Daniel Pederson will lead the men in the 5000m, while Derek Gross will make a run at another 800m top-10 mark.
The rest of the team will head to the Parkside Classic, which takes place entirely on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. with the men's weight throw and ending at 5:15 p.m. with the 4x400 relays.

LAST YEAR AT THESE EVENTS:
Joe Keys' total of 5,241 points won the men's heptathlon at the University of Chicago's Windy City Rumble to break the Marquette program record at the time. He would go on to beat his own record later that year.
At Parkside, MU took home first place finishes in the men's 400m and mile while the women took home event victories in the weight throw, shot put, 400m, mile, 3000m and all four jumping events. Lindsey Mirkes claimed the high jump and Rachel Seraphine took the pole vault while Carley Hintz (400m), Kalina Gardiner (mile) and Emily Foley (3000m) won their respective events.
High jumper Daniel Armstrong defended his men's high jump crown at the Meyo Invitational by winning a jump off for first place. His winning leap was 2.12 meters/6-11.5 feet.
Also at Notre Dame, Terrance Howard won the men's shot put with a toss of 15.17 meters/49-9.25 feet and then freshman Jefferson Osunkwo won the triple jump at a distance of 13.51 meters/44-4 feet.
2020 SEASON NOTABLES:
Both teams will head to the GVSU Big Meet on Friday, Feb. 14 at Grand Valley State University.

2020 SEASON NOTABLES:
- 2019 Second Team All-American Daniel Armstrong started his senior season off with a bang after finishing in first place in the high jump Dec. 6 at Notre Dame with a height of 2.16 meters/7 feet, 1 inch.
- Cameron Jemison hit the No. 7 all-time mark in program history in the pole vault with a height of 4.65 meters/15 feet, 3 inches in the first meet of the season (Dec. 6).
- Zachariah Murray (400 meters) ran the No. 8 fastest 400m (49.0) all-time in school history.
- Julian Wright's 200m time of 22.13 made No. 6 all-time on the program's top-10 list at Iowa (Jan. 30).
- Mila Puseljic (triple jump) began her Golden Eagle career with a first-place finish (11.18 meters/36 feet, 8.25 inches) on Dec. 6.
- Arianna Mansavage won the 400m at Iowa (Jan. 30) with a PR time of 56.11, the fourth-best all-time in MU indoor history.
- Sophomore thrower Lizzy Cagle improved on her previous personal best in the weight throw by over 10 feet to take fifth place at Notre Dame on Dec. 6.
- Freshman Juru Okwaramoi (60-meter hurdles) ran a 9.17 in her collegiate debut, a time which landed her in ninth all-time in program history for the event.
- Joe Keys won the 60-meter hurdles at Milwaukee with a new PR of 8.25 (T-3rd all-time).
- Samuel Johnson (6.80) and Julian Wright (6.82) broke the school record in the 60-meter dash on their way to first and second place finishes (record was 6.84 by Josh Word). Daniel Bendel (6.86), who came in third, moves up to No. 4 in school history.
- Julie Clayton set school and facility records with her latest PR in the pole vault (Jan. 18), winning the event with a height of 3.93 m/12-10.72 ft.
- Allie Flando took home wins in both the shot put (13.66 m/44-9.80 ft) and weight throw (17.33 m/56-10.25 ft) at the John Tierney Classic last weekend.
- Mary Hanson (4:59.10) won the mile on Jan. 18 while Kate Jochims (5:04.37) and Caitlin McGauley (5:05.00) finished third and fourth, each setting PR's.
- Jefferson Osunkwo's triple jump of 13.90m/45-7.25 feet (Jan. 25) is a personal record and the No. 9 mark all-time at MU.
- Juru Okwaramoi's 60-meter hurdles time of 9.05 (Jan. 25) is No. 7 all-time at MU.
- Madison Marko's time of 9.15 in the 60-meter hurdles (Jan. 25) is No. 10 all-time.
