Van Kleunen and Lott lead the Golden Eagles in double figures
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J.— The Marquette women's basketball team fell, 72-60 at Seton Hall on Friday evening at Walsh Gymnasium, snapping a five-game winning streak.
Lauren Van Kleunen and Selena Lott led the Golden Eagles (17-6, 8-4) with 15 and 11 points, respectively with Van Kleunen grabbing a team-high eight rebounds in the game. As a team MU combined to shoot 38.6 percent from the floor (22-57) and outrebounded the Pirates, 39-31.
Seton Hall (15-8, 8-4) was led by Alexis Lewis with 28 points on 6-of-7 shooting from deep, while Shadeen Samuels added 17 points.
The Golden Eagles trailed, 40-25 at the break, but came into the third quarter firing to cut into Seton Hall's lead and won the third quarter, 20-15. MU cut the deficit to eight points multiple times but could not get closer than that in the final frames.
UP NEXT: MU travels to St. John's to conclude the weekend. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CT on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
