MU Takes on St. John's Sunday at 1 CT

QUEENS, N.Y.— The Marquette women's basketball team continues its east coast campaign as they take on St. John's on Sunday, February 9th at 1 p.m. CT.
The game will air on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Jonathan Yardley and Michael Watts calling the action from Carnesecca Arena.
The Golden Eagles (17-6, 8-4) suffered a tough 72-60 loss on Friday to Seton Hall. Lauren Van Kluenen recorded 15 points and eight rebounds to lead the team, while Selena Lott also recorded double figures with 11 points. MU fought back in the second half and worked down the Pirate lead to just single digits before letting it slip away.
Lott continues to lead the Golden Eagles with 15.3 points per game, which is ninth in the BIG EAST, while Van Kleunen, Spingola, and Taylor also rank in the top-30. Altia Anderson has been a force on the glass this season and is pulling down 6.5 boards per night, which ranks 12th in the conference as Van Kleunen joins her in the top-20.

ST. JOHN'S (14-9, 7-5): The Red Storm was topped by No. 14/14 DePaul on Friday 71-65, despite holding a lead through much of the game. Preseason BIG EAST member Qadashah Hoppie led with 27 points. Leilani Correa notched a double-double in the loss. St. John's has the second-highest scoring offense in the conference, averaging just over 73 points per game and is currently tied with Villanova for fourth place in the league standings.

Sunday will mark the 25th meeting between the two teams. Marquette leads the series 14-10 and won the first matchup this season 94-85 in Milwaukee after overcoming a 12-point deficit.
