MU will continue spring break trip out west
TEMPE, Ariz.-- The Marquette women's tennis team challenged itself over spring break and fell at No. 18 Arizona State on Tuesday afternoon, snapping a stellar six-match win streak.
The Golden Eagles (8-6) dropped the doubles point, but got on the board with Lesley Foe fighting through to a 5-7, 6-3 1-0 (15-13) win at the No. 6 position. At No. 1 singles, Fleur Eggink faced the No. 46 player in the country, while Milica Novakovic took on the No. 94 player at the second position. Isabella Franks was also challenged by a ranked player.
Natalija Popovic claimed a win as her opponent retired.
MU continues its western road trip and will take on Grand Canyon on Friday, March 13 at 5 p.m. CT.
