The Marquette University men's basketball team (18-10, 8-8 BIG EAST) opens the final week of the regular season at DePaul (14-15, 2-14 BIG EAST) on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. CT.  FS1 will feature the television broadcast from Wintrust Arena, with Alex Faust (play-by-play) and Dickey Simpkins (analyst) calling the action.  Following Tuesday's outing, the Golden Eagles will conclude the BIG EAST campaign at St. John's on March 7 at Madison Square Garden.Â
Series With DePaul Dates Back To 1917-18
  Â
Marquette's all-time series with DePaul dates back to the 1917-18 season (second year of MU's varsity competition) and includes 126 previous meetings.
  Â
The Golden Eagles own a 79-47 advantage in the series and have claimed 15 of the last 18 matchups overall. Â The extensive series history has been aided by the fact the two programs have been in the same league dating back to the 1991-92 campaign. Â Since that season, the teams have shared affiliation in the Great Midwest Conference, Conference USA and BIG EAST Conference.
  Â
In program history, Marquette has faced only rival Wisconsin (126) on as many occasions. Â
Final Week To Determine Tourney SeedingÂ
  Â
Entering the final week of play, MU knows it can't finish any lower than seventh in the league standings, with a pair of wins going a long way in helping keep the team from playing in the first round on Wednesday, March 11.
  Â
Providence is currently in fourth place at 10-6, followed by a trio of teams (Marquette, Butler and Xavier) at 8-8. Â MU split its season series with the Bulldogs and would lose the tiebreaker should the teams finish with identical records, but would win that scenario versus the Musketeers after season sweep. Â Entering Tuesday, MU can finsh fifth, sixth or seventh.
  Â
Butler concludes the regular season at Xavier on March 7 and claimed the first meeting between the two programs this season.
John Picking Up ProductionÂ
  Â
Junior forward Theo John has picked up his production at both ends of the court in recent outings, contributing 7.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in the last five contests.
  Â
The Minneapolis, Minnesota native is 16-of-19 (84.2 percent) from the floor in those outings and a third of his total rebounds have come at the offensive end. Â He finished with 10 rebounds against Seton Hall, reaching double figures in that category for the third time this season (second time in last four games) and seventh in his career.
  Â
John is also third in the BIG EAST in blocked shots (1.9 bpg.).
Johnson Hitting Boards Like Its His JobÂ
  Â
After finishing without a rebound for the first time all season in 12 minutes of action at Providence on Feb. 20, senior center Jayce Johnson has been on a mission on the boards in the team's last two outings.
  Â
He finished with 11 caroms in just 21 minutes in the Feb. 26 victory over Georgetown and followed that up with a season-high 12 boards against Seton Hall on Saturday afternoon. Â Half of his rebounds against the Pirates came at the offensive end and he made his first start of the season on Senior Day.
  Â
Johnson's career-best single-game rebound total came while at Utah against Northwestern State on Dec. 20, 2017 when he finished with 15 rebounds.
