MU plays at CU Monday, GT Wednesday
The Golden Eagles (10-2, 7-1 BIG EAST) have won four straight conference games since dropping their first BIG EAST contest at Seton Hall on Jan. 15 after coming off a two week pause in basketball activities.
MU is anchored by seniors Selena Lott (17.8 ppg.) and Lauren Van Kleunen (13.1 ppg.), and returned eight overall contributors from last season. This includes BIG EAST All-Freshman Team selection Camryn Taylor, who's averaging 10.5 points and 6.5 rebounds as a sophomore this year.
MU has gone with a nine-player rotation this season with sophomore Jordan King (9.2 ppg.) and leading rebounder Chloe Marotta (6.8 reb.) joining the starters. Claire Kaifes, Liza Karlen, Taylor Valladay and Antwainette Walker all play between 10-20 minutes per game off the bench.
Creighton (4-6, 3-3 BIG EAST) played its first game in 27 days on Saturday against Georgetown, coming away with a 65-57 win. Payton Brotzki had 14 of her career-high 18 points in the first half to help win coach Flannery's 350th game as the head man. CU and MU haven't played yet this season.
Georgetown (1-7, 1-7 BIG EAST) is led by fourth-year head coach James Howard, who led the Hoyas to two WNIT appearances in his first two seasons. The Hoyas didn't play their first game until Dec. 19 because of a pause of team activities due to COVID-19 and have had 11 games either cancelled or postponed this year. MU defeated the Hoyas 72-40 in the first meeting on Jan. 20.
