WSOC Drops 3-1 Decision at Providence Sunday Afternoon

Golden Eagles return home to host St. John's Thursday night
The Marquette University women's soccer team (7-6-0, 3-3-0 BIG EAST) dropped a 3-1 decision at Providence (8-3-2, 3-1-1 BIG EAST) Sunday afternoon in league action.
Freshman Maggie Starker re-directed a shot by defender Maddie Monticello for her team-leading fourth goal of the year for the team's lone goal of the afternoon.
The Friars moved ahead 1-0 in the 12th minute on a strike from Meg Hughes from the top of the box. The shot was the first of the match by either team.
Providence added a pair of second-half scores to move ahead 3-0 until Starker was able to get MU on the board in the final minutes.
UP NEXT: The Golden Eagles return home to host St. John's at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday, Oct. 14.
