Marquette Women Finish 22nd, Men Place 28th at Live in Lou Classic

Bradley "Pink" Classic is set for Oct. 15
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY - The Marquette University women took 22nd and the men finished in 28th at the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday morning.
"We're moving in a good direction but still have some work to do," head coach Sean Birren said after Saturday morning's meet.
Starting with the women's 5k race, junior Kendall Pfrimmer paced the Golden Eagles with a time of 17:46.6 to finish 66th in a field that featured 399 runners. Sophomore Kate Jochims recorded her best 5k time of the season (18:14.0) to place 115th-overall. Laurel Moneysmith recorded a time of 18:19.6 to finish 122nd-overall after posting a new personal record in the 6k at the Redbird Invite on Sept. 17.
Emily Foley (18:52.3), Emily Noone (18:52.9) and Mallory Lafever (18:54.9) all finished within 10 seconds of each other to place 188th, 208th, and 214th, respectively. Sophomore Anna Penzkover finished 218th with a time of 18:56.0 to round out Marquette's top-seven competitors.
In the men's 8k, Dan Weizeorick led the way for the Golden Eagles, placing 116th with a time of 25:03.9. Freshman David Zeller had his best 8k time of the season (25:22.3) to finish 154th-overall. Jordan Janusiak (25:28.7), Zak Kindl (25:35.4) and Patrick Hetlage (25:40.9) followed to round out Marquette's top-five runners.
In his second-career meet, freshman Austin Burke finished with a time of 25:47.0 to place 204th-overall, and Cade Ferron (26:13.5) capped off MU's top-seven runners to finish 235th.
The Marquette men were without two experienced runners in junior August Beyer and sophomore Jadon Conroy. Both Beyer and Conroy finished in the top-seven for the MU men in their first two meets.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Peoria, Illinois to compete in the Bradley "Pink" Classic at Newman Golf Course on Friday, Oct. 15.
